My name is Megan (or Megsy as AusTableTalk now calls me!). I live in southern NSW and my life consists of work, family, friends, exercise, God, singing, chocolate and watermelon. Lots of watermelon =)
I grew up in a household where Jesus was a part of our daily lives and I was encouraged to go to Him with everything. One of my earliest memories of hearing about Jesus was an adult telling me that my church family prayed for me when I was significantly unwell as a baby. I became curious about this Jesus that people had prayed to for me and my interest grew from there.
I recall a time when I was really angry with someone who had hurt me and I couldn’t seem to get past it. I prayed about it for a long time and felt like I was getting nowhere. I was sitting in church one day and the chorus of Majesty by Michael W Smith flashed across the screen. ‘Your grace has found me just as I am, empty handed but alive in Your hands.’ I don’t know how to describe it except that I felt the peace of God surrounding me and since that day I have not felt angry and felt only forgiveness for that person.
If you are thinking about connecting with Jesus or renewing your relationship with Him I would say go for it!! I am certainly no expert and I fail every single day in my words, thought and actions. I take comfort in the fact that I am ‘empty handed but alive in His hands.’ If you need somewhere to start, the Bible can help and to hear further discussions give austabletalk a try =)
God bless
